As they announced, a group of Mojkov residents will block the road from Kraljevo kol, i.e. the toll plaza, to Lake Biograd for one hour every Saturday, starting today, May 13.
By blocking the road, they explain, they want to draw the attention of the management of the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG) to their earlier requests that the citizens of Mojkovac, Beran and Kolašin do not pay entrance fees for NP "Biogradska gora". They are also asking for the return of the tourist buses, which used to travel from the Kraljevo kol to the lake.
Protest organizer Miodrag Kalezić He told "Vijesta" that in an earlier conversation with the management of JPNPCG, he received promises that the part of the request concerning free tickets would be fulfilled. However, he reminds that the citizens of the municipalities that gravitate to the National Park still pay entrance fees like all other tourists. They decided to block the road, he explains, after it became clear that "JPNPCG management will not keep their promise".
Kalezić also says that the blockades will last until the demands, which were previously requested in a petition, are met.
JPNPCG previously announced that on April 27 they held a meeting with Kalezić, as one of the signatories of the petition, and that the next meeting was arranged. Allegedly, several signatories of the petition, representatives of JP NPCG, Tourism Organization Mojkovac and Municipality of Mojkovac should have been present at that meeting.
"We note that at the mentioned meeting there was talk about the relocation of tourist vehicles, as well as free entry to the National Park 'Biogradska gora', but that there were no promises in the form as stated by Kalezić. The next meeting, scheduled for Thursday, May 4 at 12:XNUMX, was aimed at finding a model that would be acceptable to everyone, and especially to the locals who have properties within the national park. However, Mr. Kalezić expressly refused to attend. As it was planned to consider the best interests of all citizens at the meeting, such an action by Mr. Kalezić leads us to suspect that it was only personal interest and not the welfare of the majority," the JPNPCG announced.
The administration of NP "Biogradska gora" claims that "true nature lovers from municipalities that gravitate to the park have already bought annual tickets at an extremely reasonable price of 13,5 euros". They also remind that Kalezić is a "former colleague who drove vehicles". From that NP, they say that, considering the volume of activities required by the management of that area, they are not able to deal with personal interests. They also say that they are always "at the disposal of the local community when it comes to solving problems and considering reasonable requests."
