The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare announced that the non-working days for May 21 - Independence Day, will be Sunday (May 21), Monday (May 22) and Tuesday (May 23).
"Based on the Law on State and Other Holidays (Official Gazette of the Republic of Montenegro, No. 27/07 and Official Gazette of Montenegro, No. 36/13, 145/21, 3/23 and 30/23), May 21 - Day Independence Day is celebrated on May 21 and 22. As the first public holiday is Sunday, the non-working days for May 21 - Independence Day are: Sunday May 21, Monday May 22 and Tuesday May 23," states the announcement of the mentioned Government department.
On May 21, 2006, Montenegro renewed its independence in a referendum.
"State bodies, local self-government bodies, public institutions, public companies and other entities that perform activities of public interest are obliged to ensure the performance of work on holidays, the interruption of which could have harmful consequences for citizens or the state," they conclude in the announcement.
