The secondary vocational school from Nikšić will host the ninth "Balkan Junior" competition in the field of mechatronics and electronics, which will be held from May 18 to 21.
High school students from vocational technical schools from eight Balkan countries will take part in the competition: Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro. The representative of Montenegro is the school from Nikšić, where the competition is held.
The program of the competition will take place in stages on May 19, and on that day a ceremonial opening of the event and an appropriate cultural and artistic program organized by the school's students are planned.
"In the first part of the competition, students have to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge of electronics and mechatronics. In the second phase, in the corresponding programs, the competitors have the task of designing a model of an airplane in the field of 3D modeling, then on a CNC machine they have to make individual parts of this model and on at the end, in front of a committee of mentor-engineers from all schools, they assemble a mock-up of the plane. Already in the evening, it will be known which teams achieved the best results. The announcement of the winner is planned at a joint dinner," the organizers announced.
The third day of the event, in cooperation with the municipality of Nikšić and the local Tourist Organization, is planned for an excursion, and representatives of the Vocational High School will introduce the guests, mentors and competitors to the sights of the town under Trebjes.
