The head of the OSCE Mission in Montenegro, Dominik Vag, congratulated the citizens on the website on May 21, the day when Montenegro restored its independence 17 years ago through a peaceful and democratic referendum.
"Vag reminded that the OSCE was the first international organization that welcomed Montenegro in June 2006," added the congratulatory message.
Since then, the Mission has been supporting Montenegro in its reform processes in order to strengthen democratic institutions, including the media and the security sector, in accordance with its mandate and the principles and obligations of the OSCE.
"This is a special day for all the citizens of Montenegro and I send them my most sincere wishes," said Vag.
