The company Hex doo from Podgorica is ready to, with the consent of the Municipality of Tivat, at its own expense, replace all traffic signs on the route of the first phase of the MR1 access road for the tourist complex Luštica Bay in Krtoli near Tivat.
This is what the executive director of Hex, Pavić Pejović, told "Vijesta".
Reacting to the allegations of the company "Toškovići" from Podgorica, which was the contractor for the construction of the first phase of MR1 completed in 2018, and which announced that Hex was the manufacturer and supplier of the disputed traffic signs, most of which are in an unusable condition today, Pejović said that they then delivered exactly the kind of goods that the company "Toškovići" asked of them as a contractor.
"We are talking about goods of low value compared to the size of the total investment of the first phase of the MR1 road, and we would not like the whole story about the still unfinished technical acceptance of that road and the issuance of a use permit for it to 'break down' on us as a small company that engages in production, which was not the contractor for that building, nor did we install those traffic signs. Therefore, even though the two-year warranty period has expired and it has been more than five years since they were installed, we will immediately send our team to make a photo report and list all signs that are too worn and do not have mechanical loads, and then we will replace those signs with new ones, that is, repair them at your own expense," said Pejović.
He emphasized that he will first, officially, contact the Municipality of Tivat as an investor in writing to obtain its permission and consent to dismantle and repair the damaged signs, which, he said, would be completed within ten days after obtaining that consent.
"Although it is a generally accepted industry standard that traffic signs show no damage from wear and sun exposure for five years, I believe that they should still retain their visibility properties for at least ten years. The fact is that the usual UV protection was not applied to the signs that we delivered more than five years ago by order of the company 'Toškovići', according to the customer's specification, which is why these signs were mostly worn under the influence of the sun's rays. Nevertheless, despite the fact that it is not our responsibility, but the responsibility of the contractor, we are ready to replace and repair all worn signs at our own expense, because we do not want the whole story about this road and its technical acceptance to "break" on us. "We did not build the first phase of MR1, but we only delivered the kind of goods that the contractor - the company 'Toškovići' - requested and ordered from us, in a symbolic value compared to the value of this road as a whole," said Pejović.
Even more than five years after it was built, the first phase of the MR1 access road for the Luštica Bay tourist complex in Krtoli near Tivat, has not been technically accepted or issued a use permit.
"Construction of road MR1 (Phase I), where the contractor was the company "Toškovići" doo from Podgorica, and the expert supervision was carried out by the company Civil engineer doo from Podgorica, has not yet been technically accepted. It is necessary to renew the vertical traffic signaling (traffic signs) on the route of the road, to install the missing public lighting poles, to complete the works on the construction of banks and berms", the Directorate for Investments of the Municipality previously told "News".
They stated that in the past period, meetings were organized with the contractor, the company "Toškovići", where all the necessary works were agreed upon, as well as the documentation that needs to be submitted in order to carry out the technical acceptance of this part of the road.
"Nevertheless, the contractor has not fulfilled his obligations to date, despite several requests from the investor," the Directorate announced.
