The Municipality of Tivat and the Ministry of Internal Affairs signed today a memorandum on the joint construction of the Fire Station and the new police station in Tivat.
Interior Minister Filip Adžić said that he was pleased to be in Tivat, and that this memorandum was signed, which should contribute to the safety of the citizens of Tivat, but also improve the working conditions of the officials who should give extra effort in such a tourist destination.
"Without the safety of the destination, there is no good tourist offer and this is a symbiosis that must exist. We are really satisfied that we have such a good cooperation with the Municipality of Tivat and that we are making joint efforts to present Tivat as well as the whole of Montenegro in the right way," he said. Adzic.
He pointed out that he believes that other municipalities, especially those with financial stability, will recognize this project and do something similar in order to work together and increase the safety of citizens, but also to enrich our tourist offer.
"The Municipality of Tivat has ceded part of the location where the Security Department of Tivat is still located. It is a position that provides exceptional efficiency and is really good for the coverage of the entire territory of the municipality. We are satisfied with what is foreseen in the memorandum, most of these things or almost all of them will be done by the Municipality of Tivat ", said Adzic.
By the way, more than a year ago, the local administration of Tivat sent the Ministry of Interior a proposal for an agreement, according to which the Municipality and the Ministry would jointly solve the issue of building two new facilities that the city extremely needs: the Fire Station and the police station, which has been operating for more than 40 years in a dilapidated and to the non-conditional prefab barracks.
However, Minister Adzić's department reacted to that initiative only recently, so the agreement was signed today ahead of the parliamentary elections.
The Vice President of Tivat Municipality, Jovan Brinić, pointed out that the next step is the determination of the project task, adding that the Municipality has undertaken the obligation to announce the tender decision.
"That's according to the current Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Buildings, after which we proceed with the conceptual solution, and then the development of the main project follows, an audit is engaged and finally construction begins. In the phase of the project task and the development of the conceptual solution, we will see the necessary capacities , as for the Police Directorate, as for the Protection Services, and we will have more detailed assessments," said Brinić.
He pointed out that the local administration will do everything to start the implementation of the project as soon as possible.
"All our deadlines are for it to happen as soon as possible. These are deadlines that have been waiting for a long time. These, as I said, are assumptions that it can happen and we will certainly make an extra effort to make it happen as soon as possible. Tivat is a city with foreign investments, with the visit of foreign tourists, and we must have representative services, such as the fire station and the police station, which are also tourist attractions in some cities," emphasized Brinic.
Tivat is a specific environment because it got something new with foreign investments, but Tivat is full of space, said the Vice President of the Municipality Andrija Petković.
"Ceding any location on our part is a big compromise and I really hope that the government will be able to recognize that. I also said at this meeting that Tivat is burdened with an elementary school, with many things that are a priority for us. But also We are aware that with the arrival of Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay, Tivat acquires some new dimensions and that today Tivat, in addition to all the positive benefits it has, is exposed to negative influences, which is why it is necessary to improve the working conditions of these services. I hope that this is the beginning of a quality communication at the level of local self-government - Government," said Petković.
