Thermal power plant (TE) Pljevlja, after the successful completion of the regular annual overhaul, has been reconnected to the grid, announced the Elektroprivreda (EPCG).
"The regular annual overhaul began on April 17 and included a standard overhaul of the engine room, boiler plant, coal dust preparation system and auxiliary facilities, and this year the volume of work on medium voltage equipment, especially the control and monitoring system of the power plant, increased". they said from EPCG.
The company reminded that work on the environmental reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant is underway.
71 percent of construction work has been completed, and rough construction work is expected to be completed by mid-August.
"The most significant facility being built as part of the project is the desulphurization facility, which will significantly improve the state of the environment in Pljevlja, as well as the denitrification facility. A waste water treatment plant, noise attenuators are also being built, and part of the project is the construction of a permanent boiler house, which will be a backup source for district heating of the city, as well as the heating of Pljevlja," the statement added.
Upon completion of the environmental reconstruction project in 2024/2025, the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant will be one of the most modern facilities in the world, with all environmental standards according to European Union (EU) directives.
