The Center for the Protection and Study of Birds (CZIP) published inaccurate, unverified and unprofessional information in the media, thus misleading the public, the families of Bulatović, Savković, Đurović, Vidaković, Radević and others announced today.
They reacted to yesterday's announcement by the CZIP, which states, among other things, that "there is no reaction from the competent institutions due to the devastation of Mareza".
In the statement delivered by Slavica Đurović, it is stated that they are addressing the public "as the owners of the mentioned plots and the locals".
"The photographed plot, as well as the surrounding plots, are private property, not state property, as the CZIP wants to present. Most of the mentioned plots belong to zone III of the "Zeta River Valley" Nature Park," the announcement states.
The announcement adds that according to the Decision on the declaration of the "Rijeka Zeta" Nature Park, in protection zone III, the following can be done:
- Carry out interventions aimed at restoration, revitalization and overall improvement of the protected area.
- Develop settlements and accompanying infrastructure to the extent that the basic values of the area are not disturbed.
- Develop business-industrial and supporting infrastructure to the extent that the basic values of the area are not disturbed.
- Carry out works on the arrangement of buildings of cultural and historical heritage and traditional construction.
- To carry out the preservation and improvement of traditional activities of the local population.
- Selective and limited use of natural resources in accordance with the Management Plan.
- Implement all forms of active tourism that do not threaten the values of the Nature Park.
"From the above, without going into the motives and intentions of the CZIP, it is easy to determine that the mentioned arrangements were carried out on private land, and in accordance with the Decision. We wonder why the CZIP were not diligent when we, as residents, complained about uncontrolled disposal of all kinds of waste in our properties? Then the birds were not endangered?", stated in the reaction of the families Bulatović, Savković, Đurović, and Vidaković, Radević and others.
They said that non-objective, sensationalist, untrue public information cannot help the birds.
"The intention of this text is to truthfully inform the Montenegrin public. With this response, we put an end to the controversy about how we will manage and dispose of our own properties," the response concludes.
