DZ Podgorica: We strongly condemn another attack, citizens should understand that healthcare workers are not their enemies

The Health Center of the Capital City strongly condemned another attack on emergency medical workers.

Milijana and Milan Palević were arrested on suspicion of attacking an emergency medical service doctor in Podgorica yesterday.

According to "Vijesti" information, after the doctor arrived for a home visit, the doctor was attacked by a woman, and after that the Palevics - sister and brother - threw the medical bag out the window.

DZ Podgorica said that the arrest of the perpetrator is commendable, adding that they fully support the institutions to continue with the prosecution and punishment, in accordance with the law.

"We appeal to the citizens to understand that health workers are not their enemies but someone who helps them when they are most difficult. The behavior of individuals in such a dishonorable manner will not shake the trust that still exists between health workers and our patients," the announcement says.

As it is added, doctors and medical technicians are with citizens in the most difficult moments.

"These are people like all of us, but what separates them is that they are engaged in the most responsible profession and are there for the citizens 24 hours a day," stated DZ Podgorica.
