The public enterprise for the management of the maritime assets of Montenegro leased the ferry "Grbalj" from "Pomorski sabrojka". The length of the lease is seven days. During the next week, a ferry purchased in Greece will also arrive, with a capacity of about 90 vehicles.
In this way, the Public Enterprise is ready to welcome the main tourist season.
Until now, the income of the Public Enterprise for the Management of the Maritime Assets of Montenegro from this work amounted to 631.201,81 euros.
Morsko dobro had three ferries "Vasilije", "30. avgust" and "Ruka pravde" in the fleet until now.
Although there is no information on the website of the Central Portal of Electronic Public Procurement of Montenegro that Morsko Dobro announced a tender for the lease of a ferry with characteristics that correspond to "Grblj", it is certain that the ship was leased with a crew for a short time, from its owner - the company Pomorski sabrojc .
This was previously done on two occasions for a period of one month each, with another ferry of the Maritime Transport - the ship "Igalo", which since the beginning of last month has been plying on the line Kamenari-Lepetane in Boka Kotorska together with the dilapidated old ferry "Trideseti August". which Morsko Dobro bought under controversial circumstances in Croatia at the beginning of March for as much as 569.000 euros and with the small ferry "Vasilije" that the state company leases from the private construction company "Briv Construction" from Kotor.
"Grbalj", built in 2009 in Izola, Slovenia, is the youngest of all the ferries that Morsko Dobro has so far bought or leased for the maintenance of the only ferry line in the country, including the new large ferry that the state company recently bought for 3,2 million euros. bought in Greece and which, as announced, will bear the new name "Hand of Justice" under the Montenegrin flag.
Chairman of the Management Board of Morsko Dobro Blažo Radjenović (URA) told Radio Tivtu yesterday that another ferry will be added to the Kamenari-Lepetene line next week - the large Greek ship "Telamon", which Morsko Dobro recently bought in Piraeus.
This ferry, built in 2000, is the largest that will sail in the history of this line, on the less than a mile long route between Kamenar and Lepetan in Boka, for which this ship is completely unsuitable.
"Telamon" with a displacement of 614 tons, in accordance with the needs of navigation in the waters of the Greek archipelagos in the Aegean, was designed by the shipbuilding and construction bureau Petychaki from Athens.
The ship is 76 meters long, 16,4 meters wide, and has a draft of 2,5 meters.
It can load a maximum of 86 cars and 405 passengers, and it has completely unnecessary facilities for the needs of the ferry line in Boka on two decks under the command bridge - a large lounge with a cafe for passengers, i.e. accommodation cabins for the crew.
With a maximum speed of 9 knots, "Tlanmon" is powered by two Doosan diesel engines with a power of 1.000 horses each. By the way, this will be the first merchant ship in Montenegro powered by engines from the South Korean manufacturer Doosan, for which there is no authorized service center or distributor of spare parts in our country.
By the way, Morsko Dobro should soon, through the ongoing public tender, formally formalize the already unofficially reached agreement with the owners of Maritime Transport to buy its entire fleet of six ferries from that private company for a total of just over 8 million euros including VAT. .
