More than a dozen citizens of Block V and Block VI of Podgorica protested this evening because of the announced construction of a hotel in that part of Podgorica.
One of the tenants of the nearby building, Pavle Đurović, said that they want to fight against the usurpation.
"Someone thought of building a hotel here, that is, a building for us. It completely disrupts our way of life. This is a quiet neighborhood, urbanistically rounded. In this way, a serious traffic incident is potentially created here. A hotel should be built who will make the building behind it a reminder of what happened in another city... The construction of the building would only make thousands of dissatisfied residents of this part of the city, and I think that this is not in the interest of us citizens, the city and the state... It satisfies an investor, his appetite and I would say gluttony... We will fight with all legal means to prevent the building of the building..." said Đurović.
One of the residents of that part of the city, Petar Minić, said that there is no point or sense in building such a building in this place, not only because of the urban chaos that, as he added, the developer of the building caused by closing the underground garage that stands today, but also because traffic safety is endangered.
"Contrary to the law, the investor is allowed to move construction lines, which are not allowed to be moved under any circumstances... We expect the competent state authorities to respond as soon as possible. The competent ministry and the capital Podgorica have been informed about this... Citizens expect that construction and any thought of construction should be stopped as soon as possible. No response from the institutions has come so far," Minic said.
He added that it is paradoxical that the urban planning technical conditions did not treat the fact that there is a roundabout at this location, but, he said, they took the previous condition that existed 10 or 15 years ago...
"Erecting a building on such a small green area, which is rare in Block V, will represent an urban chaos that we least expect to happen in this part of the city. I think that this part of the city and this green area should be completely preserved," said Minic. .
If the competent state authorities, he added, do not react within 15 days, the tenants will, in accordance with the law, organize new protests in a different form and "radicalize them, in accordance with the law".

"I don't know who, apart from the investor, is responsible for building a hotel. We initiated inspection and administrative and administrative procedures against the decision that the investor received...
