The head of the SD-LP Councilors' Club in the Assembly of the Capital City, Miloš Mašković, expressed his support for the residents of Blocks V and VI who opposed the construction of a hotel next to one of the roundabouts in that neighborhood at yesterday's protest, Socijaldemokrat reported.
"I express my full support to the residents of Block VI in the fight to preserve the public interest. The construction of a hotel right next to the roundabout in Đoka Miraševića Street will create urban chaos and endanger traffic safety because it is a very small green area whose use in this way is only in the interest of investors, and not at all of the capital city and its citizens," Mašković said.
As stated in the announcement, he called on the competent Ministry to speak out on this issue, and the city administration to stand on the side of the citizens.
"I call on the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism to protect the area and not allow this devastation," Mašković said, according to the Social Democrat.
According to him, the city administration should have a more proactive role in the entire process, especially if we take into account, he added, that segments of the new government presented themselves as protectors of green areas and opponents of their urbanization years ago.
"Principality or hypocrisy, we will find out soon," added Mašković.
