The Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered a weaker earthquake today at 15:12 p.m., near Bar.
The Department of Seismology of the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology announced that a minor earthquake was registered, with an epicenter three kilometers southwest of Krnjice (Montenegro).
"The intensity of the earthquake in the hypocenter (focal point) was 3.1 units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to the epicentral intensity of degrees IV-V on the Mercalli scale (MCS)," the announcement states. According to preliminary processing data, the focus of this earthquake was located at a depth of 14 kilometers.
"Based on the theoretical model of the macroseismic field of this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, this earthquake could not cause material damage in the epicentral area," the announcement concludes.
