Miloš Mašković, the head of the SD-LP Councilors' Club in the Capital City Assembly, yesterday asked the local parliament to include on the agenda of the next session Information on the need to suspend further investment activities on certain urban plots in the Block V settlement.
Earlier, residents of that and the Block VI settlement protested to express their dissatisfaction with the fact that a hotel is being built on the roundabout in their settlement, which could, as they said, cause urban chaos and endanger traffic safety.

As announced by the SD, Mašković stated in his explanation that the conceptual solution of the project is not in accordance with the valid Detailed Urban Plan, and that the construction of the roundabout at that location, as an object of public importance, led to the displacement of cadastral plots and reduction of the area intended for the construction of the planned hotel. As stated in the information, the construction of the hotel would cause the loss of a certain number of parking spaces provided for in the planning documents, and the safety of all road users would very likely be endangered due to the proximity of the facility to the roundabout.
"Through the conclusions of the Information, the Mayor of the Capital City undertakes to act on the Information as soon as possible, and in accordance with her competences and in communication with the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism to create the conditions for the suspension of further investment activities on the urban plots that are the subject of this Information ", it was announced from SD.
