They said that on May 10, the High Court issued a verdict confirming the verdict of the Basic Court that Boris Raonic was illegally elected to the position of General Director of RTCG in August 2021 due to the existence of a conflict of interest because at the time of his appointment he was a member of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Media which is prohibited by the RTCG Act.
"The judgment (submitted in the appendix, we especially draw attention to the last paragraph on page 4 of the judgment) left the opportunity for the RTCG Council to choose a new general director from the remaining candidates in the 2021 competition or to re-announce the competition," the announcement reads.
The Media Center said that the judgment of the High Court clearly states: "The legal consequence of the cancellation of the appointment decision is a re-selection among the applied candidates or the cancellation of the competition, in which procedure the defendant has the opportunity to reconsider the remaining applications and make a decision in accordance with the law."
"The Basic State Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation into this case, and the Media Center filed criminal charges against members of the RTCG Council who participated in the criminal act, as well as against those who encouraged the members of the Council to commit a criminal act.
