Enrollment at UCG on July 1, e-contracts with students

New rules on studying at the University of Montenegro (UCG), according to which students are allowed to sign the study contract electronically, come into force today. UCG also announced yesterday that the competition for the enrollment of students in the first year of undergraduate studies will be announced on July 1. As they announced, for 2023/24. study year, 3.174 places are planned.

The UCG Senate passed the Rules on Amendments and Supplements to the Rules of Undergraduate Studies at its session on June 12, and one of the changes refers to the right of students to submit requests electronically. Amendments to the Rulebook were published in the Bulletin seven days later and will enter into force eight days after publication, ie on June 27.

"For high school graduates who enroll at UCG, in the study year 2023/24. In XNUMX, an electronic service was also provided - digital signing of the study contract, which represents the last step in the process of admission to the faculties of UCG. Namely, after applying for the competition and ranking, candidates who have met the conditions for admission, submit the original documentation to the student service of the faculty or academy for which they applied, followed by the signing of the study contract", they told "Vijesta" from UCG.

Applications for admission to UCG faculties are made through the upisi.edu.me platform. After registration, candidates log in to the platform, choose the desired faculty and review the data on success, and if all the data is correct, confirm the application. After the enrollment committee has processed the data, candidates will have an insight into their status on the ranking list through the same platform. All those who have met the conditions for admission, then submit the original documentation to the student service of the faculty or academy for which they have applied. Then they will be able to download ID card readers and on the upisi.edu.me platform, to sign a study contract without going to the service afterwards.

In addition to the electronic one, future freshmen will be able to sign the study contract in person, by coming to the student service of the selected faculty or academy, but UCG, as they said, encourages all future students to use the digital signing method.

On the basis of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Identity Cards, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) was supposed to start issuing electronic identity cards on March 30, 2020. However, it was postponed until the summer of the same year, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

When a citizen receives the eLK, he receives a security envelope along with the new identity document. That envelope contains instructions for use, initial code and unique codes. Those codes are also the access data for activating the certificate on eLK, which is why it is necessary to save the contents of the received envelope.

After raising the eLK, citizens can use that personal document as before - for identification in the physical world, and after activation, it can be used to prove identity in the online and digital space, or to digitally sign documents.
