The Deputy Mayor of the Capital City, Danilo Saranović, said that Frwords received by the president of the board of directors of the city company "Čistoća" Milan Vukadinović "call for the Police Directorate to discover and prosecute both the contractor and the principals as soon as possible".
Vukadinović reported the threats he found on his vehicle to the Police Directorate this morning. Vukadinović confirmed to "Vijesta" that he found the message "Watch what you're doing, Vukadinović" and filed a report.
"The motives for the attempt to intimidate Mr. Vukadinović, who performs his public function in a dignified, courageous and public interest-oriented way, are obvious. We promised the public that we would drive out corruption and abuses from all institutions and city enterprises, and what Mr. Vukadinović did for the last few weeks is proof that we are determined to fulfill the promise we made to the citizens, and that in the shortest possible time," said Šaranović.
He said that "the principals and their servants know that we will not back down".
"And that such threats only motivate us to continue even more strongly. Therefore, I call on Vukadinović and all other members of the governing body to continue as they started, and the competent state institutions to ensure the protection and safety of all those who, uncovering corruption and abuses, work in public interest," Saranović concluded.
