The wild landfill on the coast of Lim in Bijelo Poj, which was turned into a mini-park a few years ago with the help of an EU cross-border project, is once again in a catastrophic state.
This was pointed out by the NGO "Euromost", where they state that they informed the EU Delegations in Belgrade and Podgorica, as well as the cross-border offices of Serbia and Montenegro.
"We also sent an appeal to Brussels, in order to show what the cross-border projects in Bijelo Polje look like, which are overgrown with weeds and garbage and which no one maintains, nor is anyone interested in it. We recorded the site of the park in Strojtanica, the construction of which was implemented by the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and the Municipality of Priboj, after this location was cleaned and arranged. The videos clearly show that the place is overgrown with weeds and that waste is being dumped again, even though the obligation to maintain it lies with the Municipality of Bijelo Polje," the NGO told "Vijesti" .
They state that last year they repeatedly warned the Municipality of Bijelo Polje about its obligations and note that the European Union allocated 133 thousand euros for the implementation of this project and that laboratory equipment for measuring the water quality of the Lim River was also purchased, which has not yet been put into operation.
