In commemoration of the martyrdom of eleven young people from Bar who were shot by German soldiers on this day in 1944, Vice President of the Municipality of Bar Damir Rašketić, Acting Secretary of the Secretariat for Culture Srđan Lekić and President of the Association of NOR Fighters and Anti-Fascists Bar Đuro Marković laid down today wreath on the Memorial on the Belvedere.
"Descendants and relatives paid their respects to the shadows of innocently martyred girls and boys, aged 16 to 20, and the event was also attended by members of the 'November 24' Scout Squad. In this way, Bar has been paying respect to the heroic sacrifice for the seventy-ninth year in a row. youth, as a symbol of the anti-fascist tradition and the fight for freedom," announced the Municipality.
"Their wishes were to live in freedom, peace and harmony, in mutual understanding and respect, for our Montenegro to be even more beautiful, for our beautiful Bar to be even more beautiful, richer and more prosperous. Let's do everything in our power to ensure that their wishes become and remain a reality, because it is our debt to them and our obligation to the generations to come," said UBNOR president and anti-fascist Bar Đuro Marković.
