Officials of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Vladimir Bulatović, Jovana Todorović, Zoran Lakušić, Vlajko Nikolić and Radovan Mihailović laid wreaths at the memorial to the Partisan fighter in Gorica to commemorate the XNUMXth of July Uprising.
"DNP is a party, which in its program inherits the original idea of freedom and anti-fascism, which is why we perceive the Thirteenth of July as one of the brightest dates in the history of Montenegro. Then our people were among the first in the Balkans, but also in Europe, to proudly throw off the shackles of slavery with a loud historical 'no'. Our generation at that time did not retreat in front of the far superior fascist Powers of the Axis, which represents an example of national chivalry, which new generations will learn from. Or, as our great Njegoš would have said in 'Gorski vijenc': 'A generation created for song, / the fairies will grab onto the ages / to give you wreaths worthy of the trip; / your example will teach the singer / how to speak with immortality'", reads the announcement of the DNP.
From that party, they claim that the idea of anti-fascism remains as a libertarian vertical of all peaceful humanity.
"With the obligation of all generations to inherit it in their historical memory... We all need to shine anew the pages of our glorious history of unrest with slavery, both for the sake of those who bequeathed this land to us, and for the sake of passing on the examples of heroism of our ancestors to the generations that are coming," the announcement concludes.
