The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, congratulated the citizens of Šavnik, the President of the Municipality, Jugoslav Jakić, the President of the Municipal Assembly, Nadežda Kotlica, and the members of the local parliament, on the Day of the Municipality, the Information Service of the President of Montenegro announced.
"July 22, 1941, when the brave citizens of Drobnjak liberated Šavnik in the anti-fascist fight for freedom, is of great historical importance as the highest value, and that's why today, 82 years since the popular uprising and the struggle for the liberation of our country, I proudly congratulate July 22 - Šavnik Municipality Day," said Milatović.
He pointed out that Šavnik may be a small municipality in terms of population, but that it is a place of great potential, and that with the surrounding mountains, three rivers and canyons, rich biodiversity and untouched nature, it has enormous tourist potential.
Milatović said that a healthy environment, domestic and organic agricultural products, clean water, kind and noble hosts are a suitable investment area for significant development of ethno, adventure and health tourism.
"I believe that by creating a favorable business environment, ecological and sustainable investments, investing in education, strengthening villages and agricultural production, investing in road and water infrastructure, and developing and diversifying the tourist offer, economic and social progress is ahead for the municipality of Savnik, which would create new jobs, prevent the departure of young people and enable the employment of our local population. This is exactly the final goal - to contribute to raising the standards and quality of life of the population in our country," said Milatović.
"Together, with vision, knowledge and work, our generation is obliged to leave our descendants a better society - a society of equal opportunities for all and a society of peace and prosperity. In this behalf, I hereby once again congratulate you on the Day of the municipality of Šavnik", he concluded.
