Bjelopolje non-governmental organization "Euromost" claims that inspections turn a blind eye to the construction of illegal buildings next to the Bistrica river. They suspect that they are doing this because, as they stated, "the buildings are built by people from socio-political life".
The NGO "Euromost" claims that the drone recorded works on the construction of illegal buildings next to the Bistrica river, which are carried out daily, occupying state and municipal land.
"Exploitation of gravel is carried out every day, it changes the course of the river and usurps it, while no one does anything. We want to show the public that the building inspectorate in Bijelo Polje employs five people with a manager, as well as the Secretariat for Inspection Affairs of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, which has 20 employees and is responsible for the river Bistrica, and does nothing to prevent illegal construction, illegal exploitation, occupation of municipal land, destruction of the river itself, even though we have repeatedly warned them about all this," he said. "For this reason, today we submitted reports not only to the inspections in Podgorica and Bijelo Polje, but also called on the prosecutor's office in Bijelo Polje to do their job and undertake all activities aimed at suppressing the criminal offenses of illegal construction, environmental protection, illegal exploitation and other criminal offenses that are prosecuted ex officio, as well as to investigate the managers of the Construction Inspection in Bijelo Polje and the Secretariat for Inspection Affairs of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, and to determine the reason for their inaction and possible abuse of official position", Mekić said.
