Residents of Martinić in Danilovgrad do not have a regular supply of drinking water this summer, which together with the worsening road and frequent power outages due to breakdowns in the local transmission line, makes life increasingly difficult, and for some residents unbearable, said Zdravko Đuranović from Preokret za Danilovgrad.
He said that they have sent a letter to the President of the Municipality to ensure that the residents of Martinić have safe and clean water as soon as possible, in order to "create the basic conditions for their life".
Đuranović said that they expected that roads, water and electricity would be a priority of the new leadership for the area where at least 20 percent of Danilovgrad residents live. "However, the road is in a worse and worse condition, the electricity goes out more and more often, and for water we either go to friends in neighboring villages or fill tanks during the night," he notes.
The water company, he adds, has dug a well to supply Martinić with drinking water, but the pump has not yet been installed, even though it has been nine months since the new management took over.
"The right to water is a right that is needed to realize other human rights, and if we don't have the right to water, then we can't realize our other rights," Đuranović points out.
