Milivoje Brković, a member of the Assembly of the Capital City, took advantage of the fact that he attended the marriage ceremony to congratulate the newlyweds, among other things, with the invitation "next year in Prizren".
Brković announced that he attended the wedding on behalf of the Assembly of the Capital City as a councillor.
He described the published video with the sentence "the final letter of love due to marriage with the Chetnik family Vojvodić".
"Next year for baptism, next year in Lovcen, next year in Prizren", is heard in the video that Brković shared on his profile on the X network, formerly Twitter.
In the elections in Podgorica, Brković was a candidate of the list "Aleksa Bečić - Democrats - United Montenegro - Demos - Let's go people!".
He is an official of the United Montenegro.
When asked by "Vijesti" how do you explain your statements at the wedding and the invitation "next year in Lovcen, next year in Prizren", Brković answered:
"The love letter of a married couple should not be politicized and be the subject of the media, trying to compromise a councilman who arranged the marriage of his long-time friends. I guess that is something that is natural in all European countries. What we are advocating for as a program, as serious politicians, we must not to violate, because someone trusted us based on that. Elem, Njegoš's chapel on Lovćen is our decade-long goal as an Orthodox corps, but also the return to the occupied territory of Kosovo and Metohija".
He also said that he does not expect couples to refuse his presence at weddings in the future because of the event.
"I don't expect anything from couples, on the contrary, I accepted this invitation solely because of my friends who are getting married. What is encouraging for dissenters is that there are other councilors so they can choose for themselves. Democracy is at work".
Answering a question from "Vijesti", Brković also said that he would not attend the registration of a same-sex life partnership.
"Of course, I would not accept that type of registration, because I have a conscientious objection. I am a councilor who inherits traditional and family values and will continue to do so in the future. I will persevere in all future activities, and the unprecedented chase and attack by the media and public figures on me is ridiculous and for ignoring," said Brković.
