Members of the National Protection Service (NP) "Biogradska Gora", in an operation that lasted several hours, found two Israeli tourists who were lost in the rainforest.
Sara and Nisim Bar Sela got lost early yesterday afternoon and did not know where they were. The tourists first called the Israeli embassy, and from that embassy they informed the competent Montenegrin services.
"Around 14 p.m., we received information from the Directorate for Emergency Situations that two tourists were lost in the rainforest and that they did not know where they were. The Directorate helped the tourists locate themselves, so we immediately headed towards them. We found them at a very inaccessible terrain in the bed of Lake Jezerštica around 14.45:18 p.m., fortunately, unharmed. It is unclear how they got to that part of the rainforest. At around XNUMX p.m., we returned them to Lake Biograd," says Mile Rnković, head of the Protection Service, who coordinated the operation to find the tourists.
According to him, the Israelis did not use marked hiking trails or maps. They also did not hire a professional guide. The National Park appeals to tourists to be careful how to move through the rainforest.
"It is very important not to get off the marked paths. Tourists should not use the paths used by NP employees or the paths made by wild game. Also, it would be good to hire licensed guides. That way they will avoid dangers", Rnkovic said
