Abazović with KFOR commander: The government supports all efforts aimed at normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that the Government supports dialogue and all efforts aimed at normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina and achieving a political solution that will ensure not only security in Kosovo, but also stability in the countries of the Western Balkans.

He said this at a meeting with KFOR representatives led by Commander Angelo Michel Ristucia, the Government announced.

"The Government of Montenegro strongly supports KFOR in its attempt to ensure security in the north of Kosovo. We are also happy that our soldiers are there and contribute and we will continue to do so," said Abazović, adding that NATO's commitment to continue its engagement in Kosovo is key to preserving peace and stability in the entire Western Balkans.

Ristucia thanked the Government of Montenegro for its continuous support, the statement added, expressing the hope that other countries in the region would experience the same in order to find a solution to the situation in Kosovo as soon as possible.

"We need to be a more inclusive and tolerant society, that applies to the entire region. We need to concentrate on future generations, and the interest of future generations is not to be left with the tails of the past that they have to deal with. I think that is not in anyone's interest. That is why we invite both parties and Pristina and Belgrade to return to dialogue and continue with the implementation of the agreement on the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, which was recently reached in Brussels and Ohrid," Abazović added.

The meeting was reportedly attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Krsto Perović, and the Prime Minister's Advisor on Legal Affairs, Ivo Šoć.
