The International Night of Blind Mice will be celebrated tomorrow at the Independence Square in Podgorica, announced the Public Company of the National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG).
It is said that the night has a thematic character, so they invited the children to beautify the event with creations, works, masks.
"JPNPCG biologists will introduce them in an interesting way to the life and characteristics of this endangered animal group of mammals, and special attention will be devoted to the discussion about the importance of their protection," the announcement says.
The program foresees the organization of quizzes, an educational workshop for children, presentations, as well as the awarding of prizes for the best children's drawings.
The International Bat Mice Night has been celebrated in over 30 European countries since 1997 under the auspices of the Agreement on the Protection of European Bat Mice Populations.
The goal, as stated, is to draw the public's attention to the importance of preserving the endangered population of bats protected by law.
Bats are the second largest group of mammals in the world and number more than 1,3 thousand species.
All species of bats are protected by national legislation.
"Bats are found in international directives, conventions and agreements, which oblige the signatory states, including Montenegro, to protect them, as well as their habitats," the statement said.
