The occupancy of Kolašin hotels during the weekend in August was up to 100 percent, while half of the capacity in private accommodation was filled. This is a slightly worse visit than the previous month, say the local Tourist Organization, but they emphasize that the trend of good statistics of the Kolasin tourist summer is still maintained.

According to the director of TO Zorica Milašinović, tourists are now more looking for accommodation outside the city.

"Guests are looking for accommodation in camps in Lipovo and Katuni. July, when it comes to attendance, was excellent, but during August the occupancy of private accommodation is somewhat worse. Guests from abroad continue to dominate, so most of them are from France, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic... This summer we also have a large number of guests from Saudi Arabia," said Milašinović.

Close to 10.800 guests stayed in Kolašin during July, and most of them were foreign tourists.

According to the director of TO, the events and numerous accompanying contents gave additional quality to the diverse tourist offer. The MOSI Games were successfully completed, the International Tango Camp is especially worth visiting, the Bjelasica Trail, the Korifej Alternative Theater Festival were held, and the Summer in Kolašin event is still ongoing, so every weekend musical programs are organized on the main street. The Sinjajvin Cycling Marathon is coming up in September.

A significant number of overnight stays was also achieved thanks to sports tourism, that is, the basketball camp, and the preparations of the senior volleyball team of Montenegro.

As in previous years, tourists' interest in active vacations is growing, so they often choose to visit the National Park "Biogradska gora", hiking and cycling tours in Bjelasica, horse riding, rafting on the Tara River, touring the Mrtvice canyon, panoramic rides at the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center...

Since the beginning of the summer season, around 1600 tickets for the panoramic ride on the Troglava cable car have been sold at the Kolašin 8.000 Ski Center. As the manager of that ski resort says Bojan Medenica, this summer's visit is at the same level as last year's.

"After the summer season, which will most likely last until the end of September, we will immediately work on preparations for the next winter season, which, in case of early snowfall, we expect to be a record and a true indicator of the potential of this ski center. We hope that the installation of the lifts will start soon and that we will complete the offer of the upcoming winter season with them", says Medenica.

He appealed for the rehabilitation of the road from Kolašin to the Kolašin 1450 Ski Center to begin as soon as possible, which, he claims, is necessary, given the traffic problems on that section last year.

He estimated that the opening of the tunnel from Lubnice to Jezerin would create additional challenges in traffic.
