For the healthy growth and development of children, one of the key factors is the availability of adequate health services, which, unfortunately, is not the case for those who live in Šavnik and Žabljak, because they do not have pediatricians continuously available in the place where they live.
This was announced by the Association "Parents" from the Family Caravan from Šavnik and Žabljak.
"The parents of the children who visited the caravan pointed this out during the visit of the Family Caravan on Saturday, September 2, which went on a tour of all Montenegrin municipalities. The goal of the caravan is to provide parents with verified information on important topics related to development and health of the youngest, and fun and educational content for their children," the statement added.
During the visit to Šavnik, the parents were interested in vaccination with the HPV vaccine, the statement adds, and states that in a conversation with Dr. Marija Božović from the Institute of Public Health, they explained that their girls are not available for health services at the Health Center in that municipality because they don't have a pediatrician who prescribes.

According to them, since the coronavirus pandemic, pediatricians from Nikšić, who used to come once a week, no longer come, which is why they take children kilometers away to see a doctor - to get an examination, a referral or the medicine they need.
"There is a similar situation in Žabljak, although children there have the opportunity to visit a pediatrician during the week, but that is not enough, as their parents say, especially when they get sick. They say that pediatricians choose some other cities to work in," the statement said. is from the "Parents" Association.
In both municipalities, parents expect better conditions in preschool institutions, the association said, adding that in Šavnik they should get a crèche, which they don't have, and in Žabljak they should get more space inside the facility, as well as more teachers and nurses so that, as they said, were able to share a mixed daycare group that will have over 40 children this year.
"Representatives of local administrations remind us of the problem of population outflow that they have been facing for years, which is particularly pronounced in Šavnik, while in Žabljak they notice positive changes in the number of newborns," it was announced.
The President of the Municipality of Žabljak, Radoš Žugić, announced, as stated, that children and their living conditions are the priority of his administration, and as an example he cited the decision that starting this calendar year, kindergarten will be free for all children because the municipality covers their living expenses
"The family caravan is part of a project implemented by the association Parents in cooperation with UNICEF, with the financial support of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro. The goal of the caravan is to involve and empower local communities to provide the conditions necessary for the optimal growth and development of children. During the caravan several different thematic activities are planned that will contribute to better informing parents about important topics related to the growth and development of children, such as immunizations, nutrition, breastfeeding, the importance of contact, games and limiting the use of technological means that are not intended for children", it is stated in announcement.
According to them, the Family Caravan will travel every Saturday until November 25, and the plan is to visit two cities each time and to organize a mini family event during the visit.
"During the two-hour program, there will be entertainment spots and creative-educational workshops for children, and the caravan team will introduce parents to the key views of the profession regarding the growth and development of children and inform them where they can get verified and accurate information on these topics," he says. in the announcement.
In addition to the informative part of the program, workshops and entertainment points are organized for children and parents, said the "Parents" Association, adding that children have the opportunity to "use their fingers" through creative expression.
"In this way, they work on fine motor skills, practice precision and creativity through play and socializing with their peers. A special corner is equipped with didactic cubes and Sova toys that are specially designed for younger children, with the aim of developing dexterity, logic, gross and fine motor skills. Rent party animators are in charge of different animation points, and through playing with children they work to strengthen cooperation, team spirit, and promote early development," it was announced.
