The United Kingdom, together with international partners, will continue to be Montenegro's partner in cyber security, said British Ambassador Dawn McCann.
As reported by the British Embassy, this week they hosted colleagues from the United Kingdom and Montenegro, including government cyber specialists, other diplomatic missions and cyber experts, to discuss joint successes and challenges.
McCann said that a strong cyber security system in Montenegro is essential for the protection of security and people.
She added that the security of the United Kingdom and Montenegro are interconnected, adding that strong cyber resilience in all government institutions and critical national infrastructure is in the common interest.
As McCann stated, a little more than a year ago, the implications on real life that cyber attacks can have in Montenegro were seen.
"The United Kingdom, together with international partners, will continue to be Montenegro's partner in the field of cyber security. Together, we should now use our experiences to ensure better support for Montenegro to make real progress in that area," McCann added.
The Embassy stated that the United Kingdom's commitment to cooperation with its partners is evident in joint initiatives.
Through information sharing, capacity building programs and joint exercises, the UK is empowering other partner nations to improve their cyber security, they said.
The Embassy said that by transferring knowledge and best practices, the United Kingdom is helping its partners achieve a high level of capacity to protect their digital environment.
"In the future, nurturing such cooperation and prioritizing cyber security will be of key importance for creating a safer digital future for all of us, both in the United Kingdom and in Montenegro," the announcement concludes.
