The educational unit "Jelena Ćetković 2", preschool institution "Đina Vrbica", will not be evicted from the elementary school "21. May".
This is what the school director Tijana Luković told "Vijesta".
Several parents contacted the newsroom yesterday, claiming that the school management is threatening to evict their children.
That educational unit, by the way, has been located in the school premises for years, and is attended by children aged three to six.
"We have a contract with the preschool institution 'Đina Vrbica'. This contract is valid until the end of this school year. No, we did not plan and we will not evict anyone," Luković told "Vijesti".
According to her, the school tries to ensure that the children stay in "humane conditions".
"They have their own two classrooms, their own toilet. They have been using the premises for years," Luković said.
Elementary school "21. May" was opened in the academic year 2010/2011. and was built for 1.200 students, and at the moment, according to the director, there are more than 1.000.
"The number of students is increasing, a larger number of students from abroad also attend the school, and we also have students from the RE (Roma and Egyptian) population. This year, we were able to enroll seven classes of champions, but we were forced to return a part of the children", says Luković.
He also claims that the school should work in two shifts, but that they should also have an intermediate shift.
"Precisely because we wanted to meet the children from the kindergarten and honor the contract with the management of the kindergarten 'Đina Vrbica'. So, once again: by the end of this school year, everything will be as it has been so far," Luković promised.
She also emphasized that last year only seven children were enrolled, who previously attended kindergarten in the school building
The director of the "Đina Vrbica" kindergarten, Bojana Razić, did not answer the calls of "Vijesti" yesterday.
The parents, on the other hand, claim that the school management has been announcing for days that the educational unit will be evicted. They said that they will not allow it, but that they will fight against such a decision in all the ways available under the law. TP
