In addition to the national flag of Montenegro, the Serbian national flag is displayed on the building of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje today.
The red-blue-white tricolor is flying on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.
Recently, on the occasion of the Day of the Bosniak Flag, the flag of that nation was displayed on the building of the Local Self-Government.
Today in Serbia, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag is celebrated, which has been celebrated as a national holiday since 2020 based on the agreement of the leadership of Serbia and Republika Srpska (RS).
The idea of establishing a joint holiday between Serbia and the RS was brought to the public after the meeting of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić in 2020 with the leadership of the RS.
The Law on Public Holidays states that public holidays in Serbia are New Year's Day, Labor Day, Victory Day and Armistice Day in the First World War, while the Day of Serbian Unity as a proposal never reached the Serbian Parliament.
