"I am pleased to send my hearty congratulations on behalf of the SNP of Montenegro, as well as on my own behalf, to you and all citizens of Žabljak, on the occasion of the Municipal Day. This day symbolizes the unwavering heroism of the citizens of this Durmitor region in the anti-fascist struggle, which weaves the heroism of Durmitor residents into the beautiful beauty of Žabljak," announced Joković.

He said that Žabljak, known for its extremely beautiful nature, has become a major tourist center, attracting numerous tourists from all over the world.

"I am convinced that in the coming period the Municipality of Žabljak will be recognized for the successful valorization of all its natural resources and will continue to be the center of winter and summer tourism, thanks to which Montenegro has been highlighted on the list of the most desirable top destinations," concluded Joković.

Bečić: Žabljak is a natural phenomenon and a historical bulwark of anti-fascist resistance

The President of Democratic Montenegro, Aleksa Bečić, said, in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Žabljak, that this municipality is not only a natural phenomenon but also a historical bulwark of anti-fascist resistance.

On behalf of Democratic Montenegro and his own name, as stated in the Democratic's congratulation, he congratulated the President of the Municipality, Radoš Žugić, the President of the Municipal Assembly, Ivan Popović, as well as all the citizens of Žabljak on September 17, the Day of the Municipality of Žabljak.

"Just as Black Lake and Sava kuk captivate with their beauty, so Žabljak stands as a beacon of the natural and historical greatness of Montenegro. This day symbolizes the unwavering strength and loyalty of the heroic Durmitorians in liberating this priceless jewel of Montenegro," said Bečić.

What was once a modest town, today, Bečić stated, thanks to the natural charms that exude the authentic beauty of Durmitor and its untouched nature with a wealth of flora and fauna, has become the center of mountain tourism in Montenegro.

"In this sense, our obligation is to ensure the permanent protection of this UNESCO natural monument, but also to continuously shape a progressive future for all the citizens of Žabljak through the support of young generations," he said.

Bearing in mind the challenges of migration and depopulation, he added, the importance of a strategic approach to the retention and prosperity of our local community cannot be overestimated.

"Our ultimate goal is to provide a high standard of living and create an environment where young people will not lack opportunities for personal and professional development. As part of that goal, improving infrastructure, educational and health services is not only a necessity, but also a moral obligation," said Bečić in congratulations.

Let's not forget that the wealth and heritage of Žabljak is preserved, said Bečić, and through its cultural and historical dimension, which, he added, we will tirelessly support and improve.

"On this festive day, with a feeling of sincere gratitude towards our ancestors and optimism towards future generations, I once again send my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of the Municipal Day. Let Žabljak be a municipality where every citizen can realize their dreams, building a bright future while with awe preserve their priceless natural and cultural heritage," said the President of Democratic Montenegro.
