In a small fishing village, a boy told his grandfather how Marija Vuković runs five times every day, as if to the sea and back. Her flight to sports heights, just like his, is an inspiration to many. The Montenegrin athlete shared this indescribably valuable feeling with our golden Olympian Igor Vušurović and representatives of the One company with the students in a very special physical education class at Njegoš Primary School in Cetinje. From now on, precisely because of this Olympic network, her students will have new equipment for the lessons of this subject.
"Today, Igor and I are their physical education teachers. We played volleyball, went through athletic disciplines. However, more than anything, I wanted to tell them that every success is real and worthwhile, only if it is due to hard work and dedication. Whatever you do in life, these are the values that will make us feel good, that will bring confidence and open the way", she said Marija Vuković.
They are on Mary, in words director Adriana Aleksić, proud of everyone in her town, especially in Njegoš Primary School.
"This visit is special because Marija went to our school, and today she is one of the best athletes. I think there is no better way to send good messages to children about the importance of physical activity and a healthy life, but also the role of work and perseverance in life.", pointed out Aleksić.
Montenegrin Olympians who we know from the sports fields, whom we trust, but whom we are not used to seeing in this role, offered their experiences, views on all the challenges of today, but also alternatives on how to do things differently, during a joint project with the company One. One is extremely proud of the project "Learn, find out and get started" as the Olympic Network of Montenegro.
"We believe that as a society we are obliged to influence our children to be better, especially when we talk about values. The video lessons, in which our Olympians spoke in an extremely authentic way about topics that are so important to children and young people, are a real example of such an intention. We are proud of our partnership, which now goes in the direction of emphasizing the importance of physical activity in school age. Today we are in Cetinje, while in the coming period we will equip two more schools with equipment for conducting physical education classes", he announced Branko Mitrović, executive director of One.
The Montenegrin Olympic Committee and the One company are dedicated to building a safe and supportive environment for children and young people, which primarily includes Olympic values such as the joy of the game, fair play, and respect. Seeing the children's reactions to Cetinje, the famous Montenegrin volleyball player Igor Vušurović believes that our children hear and understand these messages.
"Sportsmen, including our Maria, who achieves extraordinary success, are an inspiration. The fact that this inspiration was so clearly visible among the youngest in the physical education class of Njegoš Elementary School in Cetinje is a reason to be proud. Also, she is the reason to make even more efforts to spread the values of Olympism and thus offer young people the best of sports and life.", said our golden Olympian and general secretary of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee Igor Vusurović.
Sixth grade students confirm that Marija and Igor were heard and understood today by the students of Njegoš Primary School in Cetinje Iskra Rakčević i Matija Roganović.
"Sport is a team game. And everything is greater when shared. Both happiness and wealth increase only when they are shared," is Iskra's message, while Matija says that Igor and Marija inspired him to love sports long before he met them today.
"I spent a very nice day today and I'm happy that my school got new balls and various props for the game because sports are very important for health," said this eleven-year-old.
This important socially responsible project of One and COK was supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro.
