The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, said in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the day of the municipality of Rožaje, that the abundance of natural and cultural resources of that region, crowned by the Hajla and bathed by the Ibar, offers enormous opportunities for development and prosperity.
"I hereby send my heartiest congratulations to Rožaje Municipality President Rahman Husović, Municipality Assembly President Almir Avdić, councilors and all citizens on the occasion of Rožaje Municipality Day," said Milatović.
He added that today, as we celebrate the Municipal Day, we remember the brave proletarians of Rožaj who gave their lives for the liberation of Rožaj and that the fearless fight of the residents of that region against fascism and occupation remains an eternal inspiration for the residents of that municipality and a reminder of the importance of preserving peace, diversity and solidarity.
He notes that throughout the centuries, Rožaje has been a crossroads of civilizations, cultures, religions and peoples.
"Despite all the challenges, the people of Rožaj have preserved universal values and the hospitality that characterizes them," reads the congratulatory message.
In his words, infrastructural connections with other municipalities of our country, as well as with neighbors and a focus on more balanced regional development, are of essential importance and represent a catalyst for Rožaj's economic growth in the coming period.
"Rožaje was often one of the cities from which one left, but to which one always returned. The potentials of this city are indisputable, and the joint struggle for economic development and improvement of the living and working conditions of all citizens must be the priority of every individual. Together with our diaspora and emigrants, we can achieve much more, both for the residents of Rožaj and the north of Montenegro," said Milatović.
He added that he hopes that the management structures at the state and local level will recognize the perspective of this municipality and with their work and commitment contribute to Rožaje becoming and remaining a place where young people will live, work and develop knowledge.
