The Medical Chamber of Montenegro accused the Ministry of Health of "privatizing" the ninth Medicine Fair and that the professional integrity of that organization does not allow them to be "passive participants of the meeting".
The Medicine Fair takes place from September 29 to October 1 in Podgorica.
"The Medical Chamber, as the umbrella institution of all Montenegrin doctors, points out with regret that it cannot attend such an important gathering, which primarily concerns Montenegrin doctors whose representative is the Medical Chamber. We are surprised that serious topics, among them the topic concerning the strategy of health development protection-universal health care, i.e. a project that mostly concerns the medical profession, to be presented exclusively by officials of the Ministry of Health who have shown that they have no knowledge or education in medical issues, and the said project does not envisage the active participation of competent representatives of the Medical Chamber", it is stated in the announcement of the Medical Chamber.
They state that in the previous period they asked the Ministry of Health to participate in the development of the health care development strategy in Montenegro.
"The ministry showed an unprofessional and unprofessional attitude and did not allow it. It is also evident that the ministry privatized this meeting, and from all of the above, professional integrity does not allow us to be passive participants in the meeting in question," the statement concludes.
