The head of the Club of Councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the Assembly of the Capital City, Andrija Klikovac, sent a letter to the head of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica, in which he invites him to, in his capacity as a citizen, collect notifications from the councilors in the Assembly of the Capital City of Podgorica, Vasilij Čarapić.
Klikovac stated that information should be collected from Čarapić regarding the fire that occurred on October 06 at the premises of the Deponija company.
"Namely, on October 07.10.2023, XNUMX, on the social network Twitter (X) from his private profile, Mr. Čarapić announced: "The arson at the city landfill that released deadly particles into the air of Podgorica is, without exaggeration, an organized act of terrorism. Unfortunately, the reduction of the quality of life citizens of Podgorica is part of the political strategy of certain structures that are not part of the city government, and to that extent I believe that a more up-to-date reaction of the competent authorities is necessary when it comes to finding the perpetrators and their instigators," reminded Klikovac.
He added that Čarapić, in addition to the aforementioned, at the session of the Selection and Appointment Committee of the Assembly of the Capital City of Podgorica, made the claim that he has certain knowledge about the persons who started the fire and their instigators, which potentially committed some of the criminal acts that are being prosecuted ex officio.
"All of the above confirms that Mr. Čarapić obviously possesses certain knowledge that would undoubtedly be of great importance for the investigation phase regarding the event in question from October 06.10.2023, 254, and which knowledge would be of great importance to the acting prosecutor. In this regard, and bearing in mind that he is a councilor in the Assembly of the Capital City of Podgorica, he is obliged to report a criminal offense based on Article XNUMX of the Law on Criminal Procedure, if he has any knowledge," Klikovac believes.
He suggested that the ODT instruct the Police Directorate to request the necessary information from Mr. Čarapić, all with the aim, as he says, of exposing potential perpetrators of criminal offenses who are being prosecuted ex officio.
"Given the seriousness of the spoken words and accusations in relation to structures that are not part of the city government (opposition councilors and parties), and especially because they were sent by a politically responsible person, I believe that you will initiate appropriate procedures as soon as possible to determine the truth in relation to Mr. Čarapić's claims," Klikovac concluded.
