The cleaning operation of the bed of the Tara river, from Splavište to Radovan Luka, is underway.
The president of the Durmitor National Park Association of rafters and residents, Veljko Ostojić, told the News that Durmitor National Park workers and the Association headed by it are participating in the action with 12 boats and about 20 experienced skippers, and that they are accompanied by an official from the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Pljevlja.
"The large amount of waste most likely originates from the Mojkovac landfill, which is illegally located on the shore of Tara, and all this was brought about by the high water level in the spring. We hope that the Municipality of Mojkovac will also organize an action like this, and I appeal to all citizens not to throw garbage into the River of Europe ", said Ostojic.
