A couple from Budva rescued a wounded doe near Vršac in the direction of Vlajkovac.
Animal Rescue Serbia (ARS) announced that there was a heroic act of rescuing a doe that was hit by an irresponsible driver with a car near Vršac and did not stop to help, reports the portal. N1.
The doe was saved by Miloš Magud from Budva, a pilot by profession (31) and his girlfriend Marijana Keserić.
"However, two young people from Budva, who came across by chance, did not think for a moment what they had to do and to what extent their sacrifice should go to save the life of a frightened doe. Without their help, she would not have had any chance to survive the difficult physical injuries", according to the ARS.
"They didn't feel sorry for bleeding the ruined seats of their luxury car, to drive her to their temporary accommodation in Vršac, to call over fifty numbers in Serbia, asking for help despite the fact that they are roaming. Desperate that no one comes to meet them they didn't surrender, but spent a sleepless night next to the injured animal, and the next day, they readily got into the car and drove from Vršac, at their own expense, to Niš, for the operation, because no one closer was ready to help," the announcement states. .
Magud, as reported by the N1 portal, came to Serbia after many years to visit the aviation academy in Vršac, where he completed his studies.
"The girl and I wanted to go to Belgrade for dinner, and when leaving Vršac in the direction of Vlajkovac, a wounded doe with two deep wounds was standing motionless in the middle of the road. We got out, put her in the car and took her to the apartment in Vršac. From the apartment I called all the veterinarians from Vršac, even from Belgrade, and no one could help because of the law on wild animals," said Magud.
He points out that he didn't know what else to do and went to the Vršac police station.
"They told me to contact the forests of Vojvodina and I did that, but there was no progress, they just passed it on to others, as it usually happens, from the Vršac police station, a policeman called his friend who is the head of the hunting association in Vršac and asked that they come for her. Knowing how the story would unfold, I decided to go to the end and really provide adequate help," said Magud, as reported by ARS.
He pointed out that he called everyone he could think of, starting with institutes, zoos, veterinarians, colleges and institutes, but to no avail.
"No one wanted to help. We stayed with her all evening, we didn't sleep. It was a long and stormy night. I got up early in the morning and didn't lose hope but kept calling and finally got a gentleman from Nis (Dr. Branislav Petković) who immediately offered to help and operate on her as soon as possible, it was only up to me to bring her," he says and adds:
"We immediately got into the car and halfway to Kovina we stopped at the vet to take a picture of her and give her an antibiotic and some painkillers, then we continued to Nis. We arrive in Nis at 16:35 p.m. and she is immediately x-rayed and photographed again. Two large wounds on the buttocks that were bleeding profusely, a broken pelvis, a broken bone above the front shoulder blade, an open wound on the groin. After three hours of struggle, the operation was successfully completed, the doctor called Zoo Planet from Niš".
By the way, the doctor from Niš who operated on the doe and gave her everything she needed did not want to charge anything, according to ARS.
