The University of Montenegro (UCG) will organize a two-day international scientific meeting "Days of the Diaspora and Friends of Montenegro 2023", where the guest of honor of the meeting, Nobel laureate Konstantin Kostja Novoselov, will speak.
As announced by UCG, the official opening of the scientific conference will begin on Wednesday, October 18, at 9 a.m., in the Rectorate of UCG, and it will be opened by the Rector of the University, Vladimir Božović.
At the opening, in the introductory part, Prof. Dr. Biljana Šćepanović, Minister of Science and Technological Development, academician prof. Ph.D. Predrag Miranović, from the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU), academician prof. Dr. Elvis Ahmetović, from the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On this occasion, the title of honorary professor of UCG will be presented to academician Ivan Božović, research scientist of Brookhaven National Laboratory and professor of Yale University in America.
After the introductory part, the Nobel laureate Konstantin Kostya Novoselov, best known for the discovery of graphene at the University of Manchester and an expert in condensed matter physics, mesoscopic physics and nanotechnology, will speak.
This year's conference, as well as the conference in 2022, gathers the biggest names in the world of science who come from this area, and carry out their scientific research at prestigious institutions in America, Europe and the region.
The University said that the meeting was dedicated to natural sciences in the broadest sense. The sciences and scientific fields that will be covered this year are: energy, physics, geophysics, genetics, chemistry, informatics, engineering sciences, mathematics, medicine, etc.
