Due to the expected meteorological situation for Saturday, the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology (ZHMS) has issued a warning of heavy rain, strong southerly wind and waves at sea.
As stated in the ZHMS press release, certain consequences on the ground are potentially possible.
Based on the ZHMS report, the Directorate for Protection and Rescue of the MUP sent a warning to all participants in the protection and rescue system and indicated the need to increase operational readiness.
"In fact, according to the Institute's information, unstable weather conditions are expected on Saturday, October 21.10.2023, XNUMX. In the territory of Montenegro, the weather will be moderate to completely cloudy, with occasional rain, and occasional showers and thunderstorms. During the first part of the day, more precipitation is expected in the western regions, while in the afternoon and during the night (Saturday to Sunday), more intense precipitation is expected in most of the country. In some places, short-term bad weather is also possible, and the wind is moderate to strong, with gusts very strong to stormy, from the south. Stronger waves are expected along the coast. As a result of the heavy rain, short-term problems with an abundant amount of water are possible locally - flashflood effects, especially in urban areas, on torrential streams and along roads that cut through mountain slopes," the MUP statement reads.
