About thirty workers and the management of the company "Njogo" blocked the regional Slijepač Most - Pljevlja in the town of Čokrlija in front of the company's production facility today at 12 o'clock, due to the failure of the competent authorities to find a person who interferes with felling by inserting iron into trees, which puts the lives of workers at risk.
The road was blocked for half an hour.
The workers are outraged by the inaction of the police and the prosecutor's office in Bijelo Polje, in the discovery of the person driving metal wedges into the trees intended for felling in department no. 9a of the GJ Bliškovo.
"The company submitted a report to the Police Directorate and the ODT against the person who threatened the loggers that they should not fulfill their work tasks and who he suspects of sticking iron into the trees, which the company's workers came across when cutting logs in that department, " said Branislav Kljajević from that company.
The workers warned that this is a very dangerous operation, because that person sticks the iron into the trunks of the trees before they are cut down, which is not noticeable during felling.
"However, when cutting logs on the brent, they are hit by the saw, which rotates at high speed, and then due to the rotation, the metal parts of the saw are scattered, which endangers the safety of the workers," said worker Miroslav Milićević.
Also, they note, the unknown person twice deleted the remittance from the trees, which can be witnessed by the employees of the Directorate for Management of Forests and Hunting Grounds of the PJ Bijelo Polje.
"However, according to the submitted applications, nothing has been done by the competent institutions so far. "We are aware that the Police Directorate started processing the case when our letter about the roadblock was delivered to them, but we have no information about their further actions and whether the unknown person will receive a criminal charge or only a misdemeanor," said Kljajević.
The workers are wondering if someone needs to get hurt in order for the authorities to react.
