Miljan Miličković, the owner of an estate in the village of Blizna in Piper, reacted to the article "Meče at the Animal Shelter got a name and a godmother, not a permanent home" published on October 4 in Vijesti.
We transmit the reaction in its entirety.
"For years, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been a completely abused institution against the interests of the state of Montenegro and its citizens, for the direct benefit of individuals who illegally obtain material benefits by abusing official positions.
As a conscientious citizen, at the beginning of this year, in cooperation with the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, I reported to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office a series of abuses by officials of the Environmental Protection Agency headed by the current director, Milan Gazdić.
In addition to submitting solid evidence of the expropriation of state property, I described in detail to the Prosecutor's Office the manner in which this organized group violates the law for the sake of personal interest and profit. It is less known to the public that the director of the EPA, Milan Gazdić, was fired from the Forestry Administration back in 2012, due to the illegal felling and alienation of trees from the territory of the Municipality of Pljevlja. Already in 2021, the same man was appointed head of the most important institution in Montenegro, which deals with the protection of nature and, among other things, the same forest that he illegally cut down years earlier for personal profit.
Just by revealing such devastating data for a country, I became the target of daily attacks by the state institution EPA, whose representatives have been publishing falsehoods for months, which endanger the survival of my animals and directly damage the honor and reputation of my family and me.
Therefore, with the attached evidence, I inform the public that:
1. It is not true that I do not have the EPA Consent for the public display of animals and the establishment of a zoo, because the mentioned consent exists and was issued on 23.04.2019/XNUMX/XNUMX.
2. It is not true that I do not have permits for keeping wild and exotic animals, because I have the aforementioned permits since March 09.03.2020, XNUMX.
3. It is not true that I am an illegal zoo, but a zoo that is registered in the state register of zoos, as evidenced by the decision issued on August 28.08.2023, 16.06.2021, which is only a logical continuation of the temporary decision issued on June XNUMX, XNUMX. years.
4. It is not true that the bears are kept outside of international standards, but in an area 80 times larger than that provided for in the rulebook prescribed by law," the response states.
In response, Milicković submitted several documents to the newsroom, which he claims are proof of his allegations.
