The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) procured 19 small buses and seven cars (with eight plus one seats) intended for transporting students from rural areas, the ministry announced.

Over 1,2 million euros have been allocated for them, as they said.

"The delivery is planned to be at the beginning of the second half of the year, by March next year at the latest, and it is expected that even before that deadline, all means of transport will be handed over to school administrations for use," the announcement states.

The Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, said that the most important thing is to raise to a higher level, first of all, the safety of students during the journey to school, as well as the conditions of their schooling, especially from rural areas of Montenegro.

"She thanked the director of the Cadastre Administration, Koča Đurišić, who today signed the contract with the company "Osmanagić" doo Podgorica and Erste bank ad Podgorica, whose joint offer was chosen as the most favorable. For the purchase of these vehicles, a financial leasing model was determined, with the obligation to pay the next five years," the announcement reads.

Jakšić-Stojanović stated that this purchase, as well as the purchase from 2021, will replace half of the vehicles used by schools, some of which were several decades old.

"The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will continue to improve the conditions for better education of young generations, especially in rural areas. Our mission is to solve problems and improve the education system, and we will work on that every day," added Minister Jakšić-Stojanović.
