Montenegrin students will probably not start the next school year with sets of textbooks written according to the new programs, but the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids, as they said, will "do everything" to prepare them as much as possible.
Although new laws in the field of education came into effect this school year, most textbooks remained the same. The Institute previously said that the textbook sets that were in use last year will be used during this school year.
Exceptions are physics books for the seventh, eighth and ninth grades. The textbooks for the subject English language for all grades of high school, mathematics for the first and second grade, and biology for the second grade of high school are also being changed.
"The production of new textbook sets in the countries of the European Union lasts from 18 to 24 months. From 2004 to 2010, when we were working on new textbooks, we prepared the textbook sets in about 12 months or less," they told "Vijesta" " from the Institute.
If the changes are in the percentage of 20 to 30 percent, as they state, it is possible for the textbooks to be ready for printing in four months to half a year.
"It depends on whether the changes include work on illustrations, and not only on changing or refining the text. Currently, the Institute is working on creating a work plan on textbook sets that we think we can prepare for next year, and it is difficult to say exactly at this moment which kits are we talking about and what number of kits we are talking about," said the Institute.
They stated that this can only be discussed at the end of the year, when the Publishing Plan for 2018 will be made.
According to ZUNS, the prices of individual textbooks this school year will be at last year's level.
"The reason is that the changes resulting from the changes to the Primary School Plan led to the fact that certain titles will be used in several grades, and there will also be titles that are optional and not mandatory from this year on...", they said from of ZUNS.
