The mission of public services that the state has entrusted to notaries, making them "deputies of public office", defines a large area of social relations where the main means of protection come from security and trust, which are precisely the foundation of notarial activity.
The transition from the legal profession to the notary is a decision that has matured for a long time. As an intern, I had the privilege of learning from the greatest Montenegrin lawyers, special not only in their legal knowledge, but also in the way they transferred their knowledge and experience to beginners. With the lawyer's job, new opportunities and needs opened up, and due to the large influx of clients from neighboring Italy, I unlearned to learn the Italian language.
In 1994, I went to Calabria as a student at the "Dante Alighieri" University through the Institute for International Exchange. Through a one-year specialization, I learned the Italian language, but also made new business contacts, so that in 1996 I became the general representative of the faculty "Dante Aligieri" from Reggio Calabria for Montenegro.
This is how the cooperation with the Italian embassy in Montenegro began.
Cooperation and support was mutual. After several years, thanks to Professor Tereza Albano and the embassy, I became one of the founders of the Italian Cultural Center in Podgorica. A special emotion towards Italy, joint projects, business and personal friendships, were crowned for me with the most dear award "Caravaggio", in 2012 by the Embassy of Italy in Montenegro, which is awarded for a great contribution to the spread of Italian culture.
Life between Montenegro and Italy, starting a family, and practicing law were an intense period, which I successfully overcame with the help and support of my parents and my husband. In 2005, I also graduated from the Diplomatic Academy "Gavro Vuković", second generation.
The announcement in 2004 of the entry into our legal system of a new institute of notaries interested me for several reasons, especially that it is close to the legal profession, and that as a complete novelty it represented a serious challenge.
Until April 2011, when I was elected as a notary, there followed a new period of learning, education, visits and training in notary offices in the surrounding area and abroad.
A notary is a lawyer by trade, a professional, who performs his activity as a free profession, independently, in accordance with the powers transferred to him by the state. The Latin type of notary has been implemented in Montenegro. From birth to death, a physical person goes through various steps and makes important decisions about his condition and legacy. We can say that the notary is an impartial party, who, based on discussions and advice, gives the best legal solution to the parties. A notary, unlike a lawyer, represents the interests of all parties, participants in the legal business. The relationship between the parties and the notary is built on trust, the accessibility of the expert, ensuring that each signatory of the legal work can understand the true dimensions of what they are signing.
In order to ensure the legal security of the natural person and the protection of his rights, the notary certifies small and large acts of life. This mission of public services entrusted by the state to notaries, making them "deputies of public office" defines a large area of social relations where the main means of protection come from security and trust, which are the very foundation of notary activity.
I am proud to point out that during my mandate as president of the Notary Chamber of Montenegro, in the period from 2011 to 2013, the Notary of Montenegro became a member of the International Notary Union (MNI), and by performing the functions of a member of the General Council of the MNI for two terms, I had the opportunity familiarization with the functioning of the notaries of countries that inherit the longest tradition, which was a serious help in the adoption of new standards that our notaries rely on a lot.
After completing my mandate as a member of the General Council of the MNL, I was nominated as an honorary member of this Union.
I believe that there are no rules and general recommendations. Everything is individual and depends on many life circumstances, including luck. Through the work I have been doing for the last 12 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many successful women and men. I concluded that the most successful businesses are the product of female-male support and cooperation. Since the beginning of the notary, my team has been women, but the foundation and stability from which the stability of the office derives is the support of my colleague Nikola Samardžić. It is a good example of a combination of experience, clear professional principles, knowledge, learning, commitment, consistency.
Business successes and a successful career do not come overnight. Therefore, I do not believe that anyone can say that it was easy and simple for him in those processes. In order to achieve success, in addition to undisputed dedication and knowledge, continuity is also necessary. Consistency and a set goal can be said to be two elements of every success.
The sooner you realize that learning is a process that never ends, and if you realize in time that acquiring knowledge is a prerequisite for the development of every human being, it cannot be a burden to you, but opens up opportunities and creates chances for development and success.
I never stopped learning, I learn every day. First from my children, Ana and Aleksa, my husband, colleagues, people who surround me. I must say that I learn the most from seemingly difficult situations that move you at the moment, but if you understand them as pointing out, correcting, learning, patience, you can only grow, and that in every sense.
In the environments in which I have worked, it seems to me that we cannot talk about unequal opportunities.
Maybe my impression is like that because knowledge, quality and professionalism are emphasized in that working atmosphere.
And on the other hand, it is indisputable that there are significant segments of society in which there must be, first of all, a change in consciousness and the establishment of new criteria that would affect the fact that basically everyone has the same chances.
There is no difference for, in my opinion, the most important value in business and private life, I think, for both women and men, it is courage. To be consistent in life in virtues, righteousness, loyalty, generosity, kindness, perseverance, you must be brave. A prerequisite is the courage to take small steps in order to take big steps.
That's why courage should be practiced and built in different life and business circumstances
Notaries can professionally engage only in that activity and possibly scientific work. On the other hand, I find time for my hobbies and interests. Since my teenage days as a member of the folklore ensemble "Budo Tomović", I started traveling. From then until today, I can freely say that traveling is a significant part of my life.
In the last five years, thanks to my teacher Tatiana Kotova and the fly yoga classes, I discovered a special and good way to meet my obligations and everything that is expected of me with physical fitness...
Canvas yoga teaches self-confidence. With movements and inverted positions, fly yoga teaches you to feel that you trust your body and emotions. With movement, I learn how to slow down and consciously control my body. Yoga structures and teaches balance, along with which the habit of mental and emotional balance is formed. Part of my day, regardless of the weather, is a walk on the hill of Gorica. As I was born and grew up in the immediate vicinity, Gorica was the most beautiful playground in my childhood, and today it is a habit that has the power to reset the mind and thoughts, a nice companionship.
If at this moment, and from the aspect of my experience, I had to choose a sentence and words that would describe the essence of every action and action, I would choose the following thought by Vladeta Jerotić:
"Therefore it has been well said that the touchstone of every true work or spoken word is the question: Are they inspired by love? If a man could just once see how futile most of his work is when he is not motivated by love, he would be much less vain and fruitless in his activities".
