The inhabitants of Rijeka Mušovića, Kolašinj village, announced that for more than half a year, neither they nor the other interested public, received any response from the local self-government, when it comes to the numerous submitted objections to the Elaboration on Environmental Impact Assessment for the water supply system project and snowmaking of the ski slopes of the mountain centers Kolašin 1600 and 1450. They claim that they were not invited to a meeting with the leaders of the Municipality and that they "met with ignoring and a wall of silence".
"Those who are not silent, but are very loud and active, are the future contractors of this project who go to visit the locals and property owners and offer substantial figures to buy lots or change their minds. The reason for this is that a good part of the pipeline route passes through private properties in Rijeka Mušovića, and we, the owners of those properties, will not allow this project to be implemented, nor are we interested in selling our ancestral and ancestral properties. Not at any cost. On the contrary, we are ready to defend it with our bare lives," the residents of that village said in a statement.
They say that they want to inform the entire Montenegrin public that some of those "who oppose the project and do not want the permanent devastation of the entire area and the waste of money of all citizens for the sake of individual interests, are under great pressure." They also say that they will not give in.
"Given that there have been changes in the leadership in the local self-government, and Petko Bakić is now at the head of the Municipality of Kolašin, we expect and invite the new first man of the city to organize a meeting and introduce us to the steps he will take so that he, according to the local project harmful to the community and the environment, suspended and found sustainable and cheaper solutions for snowmaking and water supply to ski centers in Bjelasica", said the residents of the village of Kolasin.
They remind that at the head of the Ministry of Ecology is Vladimir Martinović, "the former first man of Kolašin". They say that we had no support from him, even when he was in the position of President of the Municipality.
"Although this led us to suspect that he succumbed to the pressure of the powerful, we want to believe that he will also invite us to a meeting in order to find the best solution for our villages, our city and Bjelasica. If nothing else, his roots oblige him to preserve this region, and we want to believe that he will not take a single step that would force him to bow his head before the shadows of his ancestors", reads the statement of Rijeka Mušović.
As they say, if they encounter an ignorant attitude this time, they will not allow "the hijacking of the river, the destruction of property and nature for the sake of the interests of a few individuals".
"To everyone who would dare to, from the position they are in, make a different decision, we say that at the cost of our lives we will not allow the implementation of this and such, at least dubious project, in which the prosecutor's office should also be interested." the locals of Rijeka Mušović said.
