Nikola Đurašković, the mayor of Cetinje, congratulated the citizens on the national holiday Njegošev's Day and November 13, the Day of Prijestonica.
"The hero city, the historical and cultural center, the harbor of freedom, the Montenegrin capital of Cetinje, has always been a symbol of defiance and the flagship of Montenegrin freedom, which it has confirmed many times throughout history, including on November 13, 1944, when our famous fighters liberated city from the occupiers and brought the eagerly awaited freedom," said Đurašković.
He pointed out that thanks to "those who defended, defended and preserved our independence, today we proudly celebrate this day, which obliges us to respect the ideals of anti-fascism for which generations before us gave their lives and reminds us that the values of freedom and democracy are preserved and nurtured from day to day".
"Cetinje is also the cradle of the most important figures in the glorious history of Montenegro, as well as our ruler, the unsurpassed poet and philosopher Petar II Petrović Njegoš, who wrote special pages of Montenegrin literature and history, and whose day, the Montenegrin holiday of culture, we also celebrate today" , it is written in the announcement.
"Commemorating today's holidays and the brightest dates in Montenegrin history, I invite you to celebrate our past together, appreciate the present and build the future on the foundations of the courage of our heroic ancestors and the wisdom of His Majesty's words. In this behalf, I congratulate all the citizens of Montenegro on the holiday of culture and the Day of the Capital , because only with Cetinje, Montenegro is eternal," Đurašković concluded.
