Vandals broke furniture in the center of Podgorica: They still don't know the extent of the damage in King's Park

The company "Zelenilo" has not yet announced how much damage was done in the King's Park in Podgorica, where vandals broke the chess tables.

In addition to the tables, the benches were also damaged, and when the "Vijesti" team was in the park two days ago, they saw that in addition to the gutters on the gazebo, the roof tiles were also damaged.

The broken table tops, which were overturned and scattered under the gazebo, were removed from the park by the workers.

"News" from the company "Zelenilo" did not answer the question of what was done regarding the act of vandalism in that park and when they will repair the damage.

The king's park was demolished more than 10 days ago, and as a fellow citizen told "Vijesta", vandals removed all the gutters and everything that was made of metal from the gazebo.

The King's Park was formed in 1910, in honor of the coronation of King Nikola, and renovated in 1954. It was reconstructed and officially opened in September 2013.

One million euros was invested in its renovation, which was financed by the Government of Azerbaijan. The park then received modern furniture, lighting, a large fountain, a chess gazebo and a children's playground.

In the park there are busts of Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin and the Azerbaijani poet Husein Džavid.
