The seismology sector of the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered a minor earthquake at 15.01:XNUMX p.m., with an epicenter nine kilometers north of Medova, in Albania.
The strength of the earthquake in the hypocenter (focal point) was 3.7 units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to the epicentral intensity of degrees IV-V on the Mercalli scale (MCS).
According to preliminary processing data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 19 kilometers.
"Based on the theoretical model of the macroseismic field of this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, this earthquake could not cause material damage in the epicentral area," the statement said.
